Inspired by sculptors such as Barbara Hepworth, Robin Wood creates imposing pierced forms, using the core of the tree. Smooth areas of natural wood are balanced by blackened areas where tool marks sometimes remain as features of the surface. Robin's work is beautifully tactile, with a balance between highly finished surfaces and the honesty of the natural material.
