Born in Norfolk February 1940. Studied Art in Cambridge, also briefly at Hornsey, and at Reigate and Redhill School of Art, culminating in a Diploma in Fine Art (painting) awarded by the West Surrey College of Art. Received an Alec Isigonis student prize.



He was an outright winner of the 1988 Eastern Open major painting prize and joint winner of the watercolour prize in 1989. (The Eastern Open is the regions premier open exhibition with works selected from artists currently working in seven counties.) Has exhibited at most of the major galleries in East Anglia, which include The Minories Colchester, Kettles Yard Cambridge, Gainsborough House Sudbury, and the Fermoy Arts Centre Kings Lynn. Included in a large number of group exhibitions: Usher Gallery Lincoln, Hertfordshire College of Art and Design, Luton Museum and Art Gallery, Library Art Centre Leighton Buzzard, City Museum and Art Gallery Peterborough, Ipswich Museum and Exhibition Gallery. Summer group show Cadogans London, and in touring exhibition of Cambridge Artists in Germany. Two person show at Cannon Hill Arts Centre, Birmingham. Broughton House Gallery, Cambridge and The Old School house Gallery, Wighton, Norfolk. Regularly exhibited with The Old Fire Engine House Gallery, Ely, Cambs. Two person exhibition, Celf Cambria Arts, Ceredigion.

He is perhaps best known for landscape and coastal works from Spain, Cornwall, the Western Isles of Scotland, Pembrokeshire and East Anglia. He has also painted a number of still life compositions and abstractions.

In 2003 he moved from East Anglia and now lives in Ceredigion, West Wales. His work in progress can regularly be seen at the St David’s Studio Gallery, Nun Street, St David’s, Pembrokeshire and Fountain Fine Art Gallery, 115 Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo.
