Nick Hedderly has produced new works following a recent painting trip to London. These depict two very different aspects of London, with the loose painterly style brilliantly capturing the light and reflection of a rainy evening. The view of Canary Wharf is striking in its familiarity, but the seemingly ordinary roadways form a composition of strong lines and double perspective, punctuated by vivid oranges and greens which lead the eye through the painting, to the distant view. This stands in contrast to the more intimate 'Sloane Square', busy with people beside warm toned buildings which cast pink and orange reflections.
