Kristan Baggaley

KRISTAN BAGGALEY

Graduated Nottingham University, Post Graduate Birmingham.

Utilising a heavy impasto technique, Kristan uses a powerful mixture of colour and form. Derbyshire landscape figures heavily, with sculptured canvases emiting a light and shadow of their own from the density of their structure. The colour and mood of the paintings can be seen to change in different light.

Awards include 1st Prize in ‘The Bernard Shaw Prize’ for Painting, Young Contemporaries’ at the Icon Gallery, Birmingham, ‘, and ‘Stowells Trophy Selected Exhibitor’ at The Royal College of Art.
